Zero Waste Initiative

Hudson River Music Festival is proud to implement Zero Waste practices to reduce the environmental impact of producing an event of this scale. Waste reduction is a community effort! We kindly ask all patrons to do their part in helping us meet this goal. This means avoiding bringing single-use plastics as much as possible, utilizing our Zero Waste stations, and trying to use public transportation, carpooling, or bike-riding if possible.

We’re committed to reducing our environmental impact and creating a more sustainable experience for everyone. Here’s how we’re making that happen:

Dedicated Volunteers on Site

Our team of Zero Waste volunteers helps sort waste into compost, recycling, and landfill to ensure everything ends up in the right place.

Zero Waste Stations Throughout the Festival

Strategically placed around the grounds, these stations make it easy for attendees to dispose of waste responsibly with the help of trained staff.

Vendor Partnership for Sustainability

We work closely with our vendors to ensure all service ware meets Zero Waste guidelines, supporting a full-circle commitment to sustainability. All food and beverage vendors are required to use certified compostable materials as part of our concessionaire agreement—no plastic or non-compostable disposables allowed.

Education & Awareness

Clear signage and on-site volunteers help educate festival-goers on how to properly sort their waste, empowering everyone to be part of the solution.

Real World Impact

After the festival, we will compile quantifiable metrics from our waste management vendor and share the actual amount of waste we diverted away from landfills.
